Riff Merch Shop: Community Creator Agreement
Welcome to the Riff Merch Shop creator community! We are super excited to feature your artwork. Because we want to keep things transparent, fair, and fun, this agreement outlines how our partnership works regarding your art, merch, compensation, and ownership transition.
By submitting your artwork to us, you agree to the following terms:
1. Permission to Print and Sell (The License)
What you give us: By submitting your art, you grant Riff Merch Shop a non-exclusive, worldwide license to reproduce, print, display, and sell your artwork on merchandise (such as apparel, prints, accessories, etc.) agreed upon between you and our team until the ownership transfer is reached.
Marketing: You also give us permission to use images of your artwork and the resulting merch for promotional purposes (social media, website banners, ads, etc.) to help boost sales.
2. Compensation & Payouts
The Commission: You receive 40% of net sales for items featuring your designs.
The Cap: Total earnings under this commission model are capped at $100 total (paid out in two $50 increments).
Payout Schedule: Payouts will be processed as each $50 increment is reached and verified by our team.
3. Ownership & Transition
Initial Ownership: You retain the copyright and ownership of your original artwork when you submit it.
Originality: You promise that the artwork you submit is entirely your own creation (or that you have all necessary rights/licenses to use it) and does not infringe on anyone else's rights.
Ownership Transfer (The Cap): Upon reaching the total payout cap of $100 for a given design, the creator agrees that all rights, title, interest, and permanent copyright in and to that specific artwork shall fully and irrevocably transfer to RiffVerse. Following this transfer, RiffVerse shall hold exclusive ownership of the artwork, and the creator will no longer receive further royalties, commissions, or sales percentages for that specific design beyond the initial $100 total compensation.
4. Ending the Partnership (Before the Cap is Reached)
Stepping Away: If you wish to pull your art before the payout cap is reached, either party can end this agreement with written notice.
Inactivity & Dormant Balances: If a designer or community contributor with an un-withdrawn balance becomes inactive or steps away from the community for an extended period (exceeding 6 consecutive months), their unclaimed accumulated earnings will be reallocated internally.
5. Minor Designers:
Payouts to Minors: Due to legal and financial compliance limitations regarding monetary disbursements to minors, cash payouts for community-submitted designs are restricted to eligible adult creators. If a design submitted by a minor is selected and sold, their 40% designer share will be fully converted and distributed as server currency (or equivalent community rewards) rather than cash.
